APPLE ALLOWS YOU TO USE YOUR IPHONE FEATURES WHILE DRIVING IN A SAFER WAY, BY CONNECTING IT TO YOUR CAR.
In July 2018, MAZDA had announced that they will be allowing drivers with the MAZDA6 Touring level and up to come into the dealership and get a free software that allows drivers to connect your iPhone to the MAZDA Connect and use a new software called Apple CarPlay. This software would allow riders to use their phone while still being able to pay attention to the road.

Starting in September, the MAZDA CX-9 will have CarPlay in the Touring trim and above. Not only will those drivers have the newest feature, it will also be displayed on an 8-inch screen instead of the standard 7-inch screen that MAZDA provided in their other cars.

WHAT IS CARPLAY?
Apple says that CarPlay is the smartest and safest way to drive now because your eyes can be on the road and you will be less distracted. This new feature will allow users to use their iPhone through siri, touchscreen (if your car allows it) and with regular car knobs and controls. All your favorite iPhone features can now be used by your car.

CARPLAY FEATURES
APPLE MAPS
Carplay now allows you to use everyone’s favorite navigation system right on the dashboard of your car. You no longer have to hold your phone in your hand to see the directions or hang your phone from a car mount, you can get it on your car screen. Apple Maps isn’t just directions, it does more. CarPlay can predict where you will be heading based off of messages, emails and calendars. It will also allow you to add stops on your way to the destination and to top it all off, you can use Siri to help you complete all these tasks.

PHONE AND MESSAGING
Most cars can connect your phone through bluetooth and allow you to answer calls, but now when you can also listen to voicemails and call back missed calls all by using Siri. Also messaging just got a whole lot easier. Siri makes life easier and now you can text easier too. Siri will read your messages, reply and send too. Keeping your hands free from your phone and on the road.

APPLE MUSIC
CarPlay displays a beautiful layout with all your favorite music from your Apple Music membership. Everything would be organized just the way you like and you will be able to search up by artist, album and song. On top of it all, Siri is your DJ with the ability to ask her to play your favorite songs. Listening to music has never been easier before Apple CarPlay.

THERE’S MORE…
If you thought Apple was done with all the features they were going to offer with the new Apple CarPlay software, you thought wrong. CarPlay also supports other apps that you have on your phone like audio, messaging and voice apps. So even if you don’t use Apple Music, you can use Spotify, Pandora and more. Plus all your other favorite apps, who would have thought.

Apple has outdone themselves yet again with CarPlay and they will only continue. Taking driving to a whole new level that drivers thought they would never experience. You can experience this heightened driving in the 2019 MAZDA CX-9 that will be in dealerships this September. Get in and zoom zoom off the lot in your new car.
